The Houston Hawks earned three victories during their first Greatland Conference road trip of the season last weekend.
The Hawks improved to 9-2 overall and 5-0 in conference play with a pair of wins over Delta and a victory over Kenny Lake.
Houston posted a monster weekend statistically scoring 25 goals in three games. Wade Williams tallied 15 points during the three-game stretch with six goals and nine assists. Rick Morlock was as deadly with the puck with 11 points (7-3-10) on the trip. Larry Kincaid added eight points (4-4-8).
Morlock notched a hat trick and added a pair of assists to lead the Hawks to a 10-3 win over the Huskies on Thursday. Kincaid and Williams also scored a pair of goals.
Morlock and Williams each tallied a hat trick the following night leading Houston to an 8-3 win over Delta. Kincaid and Devin Styers also scored in the contest.
On Saturday Kincaid registered a pair of goals and two helpers to lead Houston to a 7-1 win over Kenny Lake.
Goaltenders Paul Sutton-Jones and Joe Current split time between the pipes in each contest. The duo stopped 24 shots on Thursday, 16 on Friday and 7 on Saturday.
Houston recorded 122 shots on goal during the trip.
Sutton-Jones also recorded his first helper of the year, assisting on a Williams' goal early in Friday's victory.
Houston head coach Jamie Smith was pleased with the performance of his squad.
"We played really well," Smith said. "We sunk in early goals and put them in a hole pretty quick."
Warriors win two
The Wasilla Warriors finished 2-1 during a three-game road trip to the Kenai Peninsula last weekend.
Wasilla opened with a 5-1 win over Skyview on Thursday, but Kenai, the top team in Region III, handed the Warriors an 8-1 loss on Friday.
Wasilla finished with a 7-2 win over Soldotna on Saturday.
James Elkins led the Warriors with two goals and an assist in the win over Skyview. Spencer Syverston, Alex Gittlein and Andrew Tumbleson also scored.
Ronnie Walker stopped 24 of 25 shots.
Tumbleson and Chase Korsmo each scored two goals in Wasilla's win over Soldotna. Derek Banbury, Track Palin and Jeremiah Dargis also scored.
Colony wins two
The Colony Knights also finished with a 2-1 record in a three-game trip to Kenai.
Colony defeated Soldotna 4-2 and Skyview 8-3 and lost to Kenai 7-1.
Ryan Pauling notched a hat trick and Tyrel Henkel stopped 25 shots to lead the Knights past Skyview.
Garrett Wilkins, Austin Manelick, Alex Lund, Dean Shultz and Chris Arnetz also scored for Colony.
Moose drop pair
The Palmer Moose dropped a pair of games to Soldotna and Kenai and skated to a 5-5 tie with Skyview during a three-game trip to Kenai last weekend.
Soldotna scored two unanswered goals to edge Palmer 2-1. Sam Roy scored Palmer's lone goal.
On Saturday Skyview scored a pair of goals in the third period to force a 5-5 tie with the Moose.
Spencer Galvin scored twice to lead Palmer. Roy, Kent Blaylock and Alex Senta also scored for Palmer.
Palmer dropped a 7-2 decision to Kenai to start the trip.
