HOUSTON — A dominant effort on the glass led to a Houston victory over a 4A program.
The 3A Hawks outrebounded Service nearly 2-to-1 during a 55-45 win over the Cougars at Houston High Friday night.
Houston finished with 52 total rebounds in the win, including 36 on the defensive side. Service finished with 27 total boards. Houston’s Ashley Apangalook finished with a game-high 10 rebounds, and was one of four Hawks who finished with at least a half-dozen rebounds. The Hawks also held Service to 21 percent shooting.
Savannah Wells and Kimberly Quincy each scored 14 points for Houston. Aspen Ruth added 10.
