HBs 3 and 6 are out of line

To the editor:

State Reps. Wes Keller and Bob Lynn are out of line focusing on House Bills 3 and 6.

• House Bill 3 (voter ID). We currently have an identification card mailed to each registered voter from the state of Alaska. It works, don’t fix it.

• House Bill 6 (drug testing) for public assistance recipients. This proposal panders to the ill informed and ignorant. It’s not cost effective. And state and federal laws already address issues regarding a recipient’s citizenship, residency and fraud.

These bills are prime examples of the time and money wasted in Juneau. These representatives would better serve Alaska by focusing on our current fiscal problems, not creating more of them.
