PALMER — Flu shots, lab screenings, including fasting glucose, lipid panel and TSH, and blood pressure checks are among the health care offered free as part of the annual Healthy Woman Expo from 8 a.m. to noon, Oct. 11 at the Mat-Su Regional Medical Center, off Woodworth Loop in Palmer.
While the health fair operates under the “Healthy Woman” banner, it is by no means gender exclusive, and men, children and women are all encouraged to attend and receive the benefits of numerous free health screenings, according to the hospital’s marketing director Alan Craft.
In addition to the free lab screenings, upwards of 50 health and wellness services and health care experts will be at the event to promote healthy lifestyle choices. The event also includes numerous promotional giveaways, as well as prize drawings, including a drawing to win a free i-Pad mini.
Mat-Su Regional’s surgery team also will show off its new surgical robot at the health fair, and will assist visitors with test drives of the robot. The robot is used for advanced surgical procedures and just arrived at Mat-Su Regional this week.
