HEALY — A Wasilla woman was flown from the Healy airport to Providence Alaska Medical Center Saturday after sustaining life-threatening injuries in a single-vehicle rollover crash near Mile 252, Parks Highway.

Alaska State Troopers say they responded to the scene at 5:30 a.m., May 16. Investigation found that Zachary Butt, 21, of Wasilla was behind the wheel traveling northbound on the Parks when he fell asleep, troopers say.

The 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt he was driving crossed the northbound and southbound lanes and rolled several times off the shoulder of the southbound side of the road.

A passenger in the vehicle, Victoria Strackbein, 34, of Wasilla, sustained life-threatening injuries, and was flown to an Anchorage hospital for care.

Butt was transported to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

Troopers say Butt was driving without a valid license.

He was cited for driving without a license and for negligent driving.

Strackbein continues to receive care at Providence, troopers say.
