Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Wasilla resident Helen Elizabeth Parker, 75, died of cardiac arrest at Colony Manor assisted living home May 16, 2004.
Her family will conduct a private memorial service.
Mrs. Parker was born Dec. 24, 1928, in Detroit, Mich.
She came to Alaska in 1967 and lived in Anchorage until 2000, when she moved to Wasilla.
Mrs. Parker was a retired realtor. She had worked for Priority One Real Estate for 20 years.
Mrs. Parker was a former coach for the Anchorage Youth Hockey team and helped with the Anchorage Figure Skating Association and Anchorage Little League baseball.
Her family wrote, "She took great pleasure in her grandchildren and was an active participant in their school and sports."
Mrs. Parker is survived by her daughters Michelle Lamm and Nancy Thomason; sons Steve Parker, David Parker and Chris Parker; and grandchildren Michael, Curtis, Matthew, Christina and Joseph.

Arrangements were made by Valley Funeral Home & Crematory in Wasilla.
