To the editor:
On April 9, Colony High School’s rifle team held its first fund-raising steak dinner and silent auction to begin purchasing equipment.
I would like to thank the community as a whole and the businesses that donated to our dinner and silent auctions. I would also like to say thank you to all of the wonderful parents, family members, friends and staff who were able to come out and make donations. A special thank you also goes out to all of the hard working students who have become the foundation of the CHS rifle team. I wish that I could thank each person individually, but my list would be long, so you all know who you are.
Due to the generosity of our patrons and donors, we had a very successful evening. However, our fund-raising must go on. The sport of competitive shooting is very expensive and our rifle team will only be supported through donations. With your assistance the CHS rifle team will have the opportunity to test their shooting and sportsmanship skills in regional, state and national competitions. Some of our students could ultimately even set Olympic competition as their goal.
We would appreciate your help in supporting our CHS rifle team efforts. Donations could be made in person or mailed to CHS. Please make your checks payable to Colony High School and indicate rifle team memo.
Thank you in advance for your support,
Shawn Arnold
