WASILLA — The driver of a Suzuki motorcycle led Alaska State Troopers on a high-speed chase for more than seven miles down Knik-Goose Bay Road about 10:15 p.m., Thursday.
The incident began near Mile 12, Knik-Goose Bay Road when troopers tried to conduct a traffic stop on a 1993 silver Suzuki GXR. The driver, Jeffery K. Wallace, 22, of Wasilla, fled at high speeds and drove recklessly in the process, troopers report.
Wallace eventually turned into the Goose Bay Game Refuge area at Mile 19.5, Knik-Goose Bay and proceeded 1.5 miles down a trail before crashing.
He was not injured and was immediately taken into custody.
Wallace was arrested for eluding, transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial and held on $5,000 cash bail plus a court-appointed third party to watch over him. The motorcycle was towed from the scene.
