WASILLA — The Mat-Su Borough issued an air quality advisory for Palmer and nearby areas beginning at 3 p.m. Monday and remaining in effect until high winds die down.
The borough issued the advisory on Monday afternoon. According to the release, "air quality in Palmer and surrounding areas may be unhealthy to hazardous."
The advisory states that children, the elderly and anyone with existing heart or lung disease should stay indoors and reduce physical activity. The advisory also cautioned able-bodied people against vigorous outdoor activity.
