WASILLA — Alaska state troopers found an Interior Alaska man along a Valley roadside early Thursday morning with serious, non-life-threatening injuries sustained from a hit-and-run collision, authorities said.
Raymond Ahgook, 28, of Anaktuvuk Pass was walking along Schrock Road near the intersection with Burlwood Avenue when an unknown passing vehicle struck him, according to a Trooper press release. Troopers responded to the scene about 5 a.m. A passing motorist spotted Ahgook lying in a ditch, stopped and called 911, according to trooper spokeswoman Beth Ipsen.
Emergency responders transported Ahgook to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Troopers wrote the following about the incident:

Troopers don’t know how long the Ahgook lay on the side of the road before the motorist discovered him, Ipsen said. She said Ahgook wore dark, non-reflective clothing, and was walking home from a nearby friend’s house when the car struck him from behind.
Investigators were still reviewing the crime scene for information about 10:30 a.m. Thursday, according to Ipsen.
