PALMER — Colony skated to a 2-2 nonconference tie with Eagle River Tuesday at the MacDonald Arena in Eagle River.
Colony goaltender Roman Shepard stopped 41 shots in the tie. Of his 41 saves, a combined 21 came in the third period and overtime. Eagle River, which outshot Colony 43-14, needed a pair of unanswered goals to salvage the tie. Nick Silance tied the game for the Wolves with 1:38 left in regulation. Bo Burretta cut Colony’s lead to 2-1 late in the second period.
Colony took an early lead with a pair of first-period goals. Blake Reid found the back of the net at the 11:19 mark of the first, and David Moore added a goal late in the period.
Warriors blast T-Birds
Wasilla scored a 9-0 nonconference win over East Anchorage Tuesday at the Brett Memorial Ice Arena in Wasilla
Zach Roush led the Warriors with two goals and two assists in the win. Roush was one of eight Wasilla players to score.
Langston Bouma, Devin Carney, Colin Goff, Dylan Harbour, Carson LeCren, Hunter Parsons and Chase Schachle finished with a goal each.
