WASILLA — State and local advocates and officials are set to meet Tuesday to discuss what to do about homelessness in the Valley.
The Homeless Summit is from 9 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., at the Curtis C. Menard Memorial Sports Center, the Mat-Su Coalition on Housing and Homelessness forum features speakers from the Mat-Su Health Foundation, the coalition, Covenant House in Anchorage, the Mat-Su Borough School District and the state’s Department of Corrections, among others.
Topics include reintegrating released prisoners into society, identifying ways to keep families from falling into homelessness, assessing how far the Valley is from offering affordable and appropriate housing, and housing for homeless youth.
