CORDOVA — The Houston boys and girls teams both suffered losses to Homer during the first day of the Southcentral Conference Championships in Cordova Thursday.
In boys’ action, Homer used 28 second-half points to beat Houston 50-39. Matt Barron led Houston with 15 points.
In girls action, Homer earned a 53-38 win over the Hawks. Savannah Wells led Houston with 16 points.
The Houston boys move backward to play Nikiski Friday at 8 a.m. The Houston girls return to the court to face Skyview Friday at 9:30 a.m. Both are elimination games.
