PALMER — Palmer senior Michael Kluting scored a game-high 21 points, and helped his head coach reach a milestone.
Kluting led the Moose to a 49-35 win over Lathrop at Palmer High School Thursday night. The victory Palmer head coach Chuck Martin’s 300th career win at the varsity level.
Martin’s son, Payton, added a dozen points for the Moose in the victory.
Palmer trailed early, falling behind 14-10 at the end of the first period, but held Lathrop to single-digit points in both the second and fourth quarters.
In girls action, Lathrop grabbed a 62-49 nonconference win over the Moose. Tyra Do led Lathrop with 20. Abrianna Busbey scored a team-high 15 for the Moose.
Palmer’s next two games are on the Peninsula. The Moose are at Soldotna on Friday and Kenai Saturday.
Both are Northern Lights Conference games. Both Palmer teams are currently 4-3 in the NLC.
Ninilchik gets past Wasilla Lake
Ninilchik scored a 71-47 boys basketball win over Wasilla Lake Christian Thursday in Ninilchik.
Brody Neufled led WLC with 13, and Brandon Stiner added eight.
