The host Colony Knights swept the team titles during the Colony Invitational track and field meet.
Colony finished with 229 total points in the girls standings and 218 points in the boys standings.
Colony’s Ella Hopkins continued her stellar sophomore season with three wins, finishing first in the 800, 1,600 and 3,200-meter races. She posted a season-best time of 2 minutes, 23.27 seconds in the 80. Rylee McIntosh also earned an individual victory with a personal record leap of 4 feet, 11 inches in the high jump.
The Knights swept the relay events, finishing 4 for 4 in the 400, 800, 1,600 and 3,200. Morgan Ainsworth (800) and Kathleen Riese (400) finished second for the Knights.
Four different Knights won an individual event for the Colony boys, three with personal records. Matthew Rongitsch had his best time, 4:24.34, in the 800. Ethan McNulty used his best throw of 144 feet, 1 inch to win the discus. Jack Nash won the long jump with a personal record mark of 20-10.75. Jayce Underwood also won the high jump.
Rongitsch added second-place finishes in the 800 and 3,200. Nash (triple jump), Underwood (long jump), Ben Holladay (shot put) and Jeriel Robles (400) also finished as a runner up.
Wasilla was third in the boys team standings with 79 points.
Deshawn Campbell won three events for the Warriors. Campbell notched personal records in wins in the 100 hurdles (15.46) and triple jump (43-7.25). He was also first in the 300 hurdles. Timothy Grisso won the 400 with a personal best time of 53.76, and Eric Kolomeychuk was first in the shot put. Grisso was also second in the 100 and 200.
Arthur Merritt enjoyed a big day to lead the Palmer boys. Merritt broke a school record and finished first in the 100 with a time of 11.21. That was one of two personal records for Merritt, who also was first with a time of 23.21 in the 200. Merritt added a second-place finish in the 300 hurdles. Parker Glasstetter (discus) and Nolan Gardner (high jump) were also second.
Palmer finished fourth in the boys team standings with 75 points.
Layla Hays led the Wasilla girls, sweeping the throwing events. She had a personal best throw in the shot put (37-3.5) and season best (115-11) in the discus. Makayla Compton used a personal record of 1:03.25 to win the 400, and McKinley Hafen was first in the long jump. Caelynn Carter was also second in the 300 hurdles.
Lydia Alverts led the Palmer girls with a first-place finish in the triple jump. Abby Pettit (shot put), Avery Johnson (high jump) and Elora Baker (triple jump) were second for the Moose.
Alexia Pike (discus) and Mya Campbell (long jump) placed second for the Redington girls.
