Houston 120-pounder takes home title at The Altercation

HOUSTON — Aaron Drake celebrated victory on his home mat Saturday afternoon.

The Houston grappler won the 120-pound weight class during the final round of The Altercation wrestling meet at Houston High School.

Drake scored a 7-0 win over Homer’s Jaime Rios in the finals after pinning opponents during the first two rounds. Drake helped Houston finish with 146.5 total points and place third in the team standings.

Jacob McAnulty, one of three Hawks to finish third, also placed in the 120-pound bracket. McAnulty pinned Anchorage Christian School’s John Sanford to place third.

Ryan Radmer pinned Homer’s Pedro Ochoa to finish third at 152. Walker Stephens needed only 23 seconds to pin teammate Hayden Griffeths to finish third for the Hawks at 220.
