The Houston boys basketball team continued its run through the 2021-2022 prep season with a pair of lopsided wins over visiting Sitka.
Hayden Howard scored 27 points to lead the Hawks to a 76-46 win over the Wolves Feb. 25. Braden Cork finished with 18 points and Cody Wyrick added a dozen.
Houston led by just one point at halftime, but outscored the Hawks 46-17 during the final two quarters.
Houston followed with a 78-39 win over Sitka the following day.
Houston scored 32 points in the first quarter, and had a 20-6 run in the third. Hunter Jefferson led the Hawks with a double-double, finishing with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Cork scored a game-high 23. Howard added 16 and Cole Taylor chipped in 10.
The Hawks improved to 16-0 overall with the wins.
Sitka scored a pair of wins over the Houston girls.
The Wolves beat Houston 56-29 on Feb. 25. Emily Bitler led the Hawks with eight points and 20 rebounds. Anna Whitted added seven.
Sitka beat Houston 65-27 the following day. Grace Gillespie scored eight to lead Houston.
