Houston and Mt. Edgecumbe split a pair of high-scoring basketball games Wednesday and Thursday at Houston High School.
Cole Taylor led Houston with 34 points during an 84-64 win over the Braves on Wednesday. Hayden Howard added 31. The pair of guards combined for 23 shots from the field and seven three-pointers. Deegan VanDussen led the Hawks with nine rebounds.
Mt. Edgecumbe ran past the Hawks 104-88 on Thursday. Howard scored 37 points on 13 of 27 shooting, Taylor hit nine threes and scored 27 points. Keldin Nicoll added 10.
The Mt. Edgecumbe girls swept a pair of games at Houston, winning 66-47 on Wednesday and 72-40 on Thursday.
Grace Gillespie led the Hawks with 14 points on Wednesday. Dallas Winter added 12.
Abbie Baird had a double-double on Thursday with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Anna Whitted also scored 11.
