PALMER — Just as city officials said it might, the trial in the lawsuit brought against the city of Houston by its last police captain has been delayed at least another week.
Charlie McAnally’s suit, filed in July 2011, alleges everything from breach of contract to unfair labor practices to retaliation, wrongful termination and even the violation of McAnally’s constitutional rights.
The city denies all those things and says it fired McAnally simply because he was a bad employee.
The case had been set to go to trial Wednesday, but was pushed off the calendar by a sexual abuse of a minor trial that started this week.
The case is next set for a hearing Nov. 12, at which time attorneys and the judge will likely seek another day to start the trial.
