WASILLA — Despite getting bumped from the Peninsula Conference volleyball tournament over the weekend, the Houston Hawks still returned from Nikiski with some hardware.
The Hawks’ Alisha Gail was named a first-team all-conference performer following the tournament, which was won by Anchorage Christian. Also earning all-conference recognition was Amanda Lorenzo, who was named to the second team.
Lorenzo was also honored by the conference’s coaches, who selected her for the conference’s “Good Sport” team.
Grace Christian’s Heidi Peters was named the Coach of the Year, while Annie Vanderweide was named the conference’s MVP.
