HOMER — The Houston Hawks’ 2010 season came to an end with a 50-0 loss to the Homer Mariners at Homer High School on Saturday.
Houston was officially eliminated from postseason contention with the defeat, and Homer clinched one of the Northern Lights Conference’s four playoff berths with its win.
Ryan Cotney and Dyllan Day each rushed for two touchdowns in the Homer win. Day suppled a game-high 129 yards on 10 carries. Houston was held to only three years rushing and 52 yards passing in the loss.
Aaron Richardson led Houston with two catches for 22 yards.
The teams played to a scoreless tie through the first quarter, but Homer exploded for 22 points in the second and 22 points in the third quarter.
