A retired employee of Alaska North Slope oil fields, a former resident of the Mat-Su Borough, and a resident of Zachary, Howard Teal died at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001, at his daughter's residence. He was 79 years old and a native of Owensville, Ky.
Mr. Teal was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Memorial services were at the First Baptist Church of Zachary, conducted by the Rev. Sam Touchstone.
Mr. Teal is survived by a daughter, Vicki Lynn Teal Leslie of Zachary; two sons, Gary Ray Teal of Marietta, Okla., and Mark Allen Teal of Sulphur; and five grandchildren.
Arrangements were made by Baker Funeral Home.
