TALKEETNA — Alaska State Troopers say they found human remains in a burned cabin Jan. 3.
Troopers say they responded to reports of the burned cabin about midnight, Saturday. A search by troopers and a Deputy Fire Marshal the following day turned up what troopers say is a single set of human remains in the fire debris.
The remains had not been identified as of Wednesday afternoon.
No foul play was involved in the incident, according to spokeswoman Megan Peters.
Officials with the Talkeetna and Willow fire departments said they did not responded to this fire, which could be because the cabin’s location is outside of fire service area boundaries.
The investigation is ongoing, troopers say.
