WASILLA — Late in the evening April 3, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of human remains found near Big Lake. Wednesday, the State Medical Examiner’s Office positively identified the remains and the cause of death.

The remains are those of Dolly Hampton, according to an online dispatch posted by AST Wednesday. The 57-year-old Wasilla woman was also the victim of a homicide, troopers said. The suspect in the case has been identified, and is currently incarcerated for an unrelated crime, according to the dispatch.

Hampton had not been seen since Dec. 6, 2018, and AST released a missing persons bulletin the following day. AST responded to the report of the human remains found April 3 at about 10 p.m.
