PALMER — Human remains were found near Palmer Saturday.
The Alaska State Troopers received the report about 11:30 a.m. Saturday, according to an online dispatch posted Saturday afternoon. A person hiking in the Pioneer Peak Trail made the report, according to troopers.
“Recovery efforts are currently underway,” troopers said in the dispatch that was published just before 4 p.m.
The investigation and effort to produce positive identification is ongoing.
