He is a long time Valley resident who has worn many hats for the benefit of Mat Su families and I believe that he embodies the best in what our outdoor loving, community minded neighbors will want and respect in their next State Senate Representative.
For years he and his wife have worked hard preserving and building upon the Big Lake winter trail system with their hard physical labor and the securing and managing funds needed to continue it’s up keep.
With his years of service on the Borough assembly he has shown that he can work with diverse people on both sides of the aisle to come to consensus to get thing done, and all the while being a perfect gentleman, not afraid to show his great smile when appropriate, and finding middle ground to defend for his community.
If Dan is successful in his bid for this office I believe that with his experience in planning, budgeting and organizing it will go a long way towards developing and maintaining the infrastructure necessary to help our communities work to preserve, secure and build upon things in our more rural urban areas. Dan wants to maintain some of what brought us here in the first place. Love of the outdoors, access to trails and waterways and the ability to continue to recreate with snowmachines and atv responsible on local trails are a big part of the quality of life that many of us really appreciate. I believe that Dan will help Alaska to maintain and expand our greatest asset, the great Alaskan outdoor opportunities.
He has done a great deal for us and I know that he will continue to do so.
It is time to bring a sensible good natured gentleman to the State Senate from the Valley and Dan Mayfield is the man for all of us regardless of party.
