I support Jim Cooper for Senate District F. Jim was Mayor of Palmer when I was a Sergeant on the police force. He came to our office frequently just to see how we were doing, ask what we needed, and what could he do to help. He always listened to our concerns and issues. He was active in the Neighborhood Watch Program; he instituted Neighborhood Policing by purchasing bicycles so we could ride around town and introduce ourselves to business owners and residents. He was instrumental in getting our wages raised so we didn’t continually lose our police officers to other agencies.
I am dismayed that people accuse him of wanting to defund the Police – that is far from the truth! He was and remains supportive of our Police force. I am standing with him like he stood with us.
