WASILLA — Following its inaugural meeting in May, the Mat-Su Chapter of 100 Plus Women Who Care presented its first beneficiary — Mat-Su Imagination Library — a check for $6,100 on July 17.
“This is such an amazing group and what a wonderful way to support our community!” said founder Phenie Miller.
She said the group gathers four times a year for a one-hour meeting, and each member writes a $100 check to a charity that the group selects.
Linda Conover of the Imagination Library said the group was thrilled to receive the donation.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you,” she said.
100 Plus Women Who Care of Mat-Su meets next from 6 to 7 p.m., Aug. 20 at Evangelo’s Restaurant in Wasilla.
