Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

I was sweating the thought of leaving on my spring bear trip without my new Invader Concepts Recon chest holster for my Glock 10mm. Their 15-20 business day waitlist is pretty spot on and I was cutting it close before we took off. While I did wait until the last minute to order, the chest rig has been well worth it.
I opted for a 10mm over my .44 magnum because I wanted something compact for bear protection. And to complete the compact package, I needed a comfortable chest holster that would fit over layers and under layers when needed.
It took me a minute to figure out how the holster fit. Its simplicity was confusing at first. I was used to complex carry systems when this modular holster really was as simple as having three buckles and the kydex sheath itself.
I custom ordered the strap size to fit me, alongside with the color scheme that was fairly neutral. I’m right handed and, naturally, ordered the right hand holster. I can slip the harness over my left or right shoulder and around my chest. I seem to prefer to have it over my left shoulder. I can adjust where exactly the holster sits on my chest and it’s very comfortable sitting behind my binocular harness. Even with a backpack on it sits comfortably. The right hand draw sticks out far enough that I can still easily access my pistol.
I’ve been wearing it a fair amount this week over my rain gear with no issue. I’ve also had the chance to wear it under my bulky life jacket with no problem. I can slide the entire rig over just slightly and still have quick access to the gun.
Comfort meets compact and compatibility with this package. I look forward to wearing this rig this summer under my waders when fishing the Russian and later on when the Parks Highway streams start pumping out salmon.
