TALKEETNA — The Susitna-Watana Hydro project team filed a draft Initial Study Report this week with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
Documents filed are online at Susitna-WatanaHydro.org.
The Initial Study Report is designed to be a technical summary of objectives, methods, accomplishments and any variances to the approved study plan.
Last month the federal agency approved a request for a 120-day extension to the permitting process for the project. Because of the extension, stakeholders will have 120 days to review these draft documents and another 120 days for the public comment period once the final documents are posted in June.
Open meetings are planned in advance of filing the final document and Technical Workgroup Meetings will be scheduled this summer.
