MAT-SU — Roy E. Johnson, 27, of Wasilla was identified Friday as the driver of a Ford F-350 who was badly injured Wednesday in a vehicle crash at Mile 185, Parks Highway.
His truck collided with a semi driven by Kevin Redd Bailey, 42, of Wasilla before it rolled and burst into flames. The fire destroyed the truck and complicated Johnson’s identification, according to Alaska State Troopers spokesperson Beth Ipsen.
She said Johnson was transported to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital by ground ambulance and later transferred to the Alaska Native Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition.
