WASILLA — An Anchorage motorcyclist airlifted following a severe crash on Trunk Road over the weekend has died from his injuries.
Charles W. Henson, 53, of Anchorage, was northbound on Trunk just past the Palmer-Wasilla Highway when he lost control of his motorcycle while rounding a curve in the road shortly before 9 p.m., Sunday.
Henson entered the southbound lane and collided head-on with a 2006 Suzuki sedan driven by Matthew J. Reid, 26, of Wasilla.
“Reid was almost at a complete stop when the collision occurred. Henson was not wearing a helmet during the collision and suffered severe injuries to his head,” troopers reported at the time.
After being flown to Anchorage, he was initially listed in critical condition. He held on until Tuesday when, at 4:13 p.m., he died of his injuries at Providence Alaska Medical Center.
