PALMER -- The Alaska Irish Music Festival is bringing three musicians to Alaska to do four concerts in November, including one in Palmer.
Johnny Cunningham, Susan McKeown and Aidan Brennan will be performing in Palmer at Vagabond Blues on Nov. 3. They will also be playing in Anchorage at the Wilda Marston Theater, and in Kenai and Seward later in the month.
Tickets for the Palmer show are on sale. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
Cunningham and McKeown present a number of selections from their repertoire each time they take the stage. Joined by Brennan, an Irish guitarist, the trio performs a variety of traditional songs from Ireland and Scotland, as well as original work.
Cunningham and McKeown have been joined by Brennan while touring from California to Chicago to the East Coast in recent months.
The tour began as a showcase for Cunningham's "Peter and Wendy," which is an adaption of Peter Pan, and has developed into "a magical evening of traditional music and song, exploring various themes. Not only is Johnny a master of the fiddle and a legend in Scots traditional music, he's a riot on stage as well," according to the show's promoters.
Prior to the Nov. 3 show in Palmer, the trio will perform on Nov. 1 in Seward at the Library Theater and on Nov. 2 at the Wilda Marston Theater in Anchorage.
Following the Palmer appearance, Cunningham, McKeown and Brennan will complete their Alaska tour with an 8 p.m. show on Nov. 4 at Peninsula Grace Brethern Church in Kenai.
