‘It Runs in the Family’ launches 36th VPA season lineup

WASILLA — Valley Performing Arts launches its 36th season with “It Runs In the Family,” which plays Sept. 9 to Oct. 2 at the Fred and Sara Machetanz Theatre, 251 West Swanson, Wasilla. Tickets cost $15 for students and seniors and $17 for adults and are available at the theatre or online at

valleyperformingarts.org.

This hilarious farce reveals the sorry tale of Dr. David Mortimore and involves his hapless colleague, a police sergeant, a senile patient, an assortment of matrons, a syringe full of tranquilizer and costumes from the hospital Christmas pantomime.

VPA performances this season include: “The Woman In Black” Oct. 14 to 30; “A Christmas Carol” Nov. 18 to Dec. 18; “God’s Favorite” Jan. 6 to 22, 2012; “Twelve Angry Jurors” Feb. 10 to 26, 2012; “The Wizard of Oz” March 23 to April 29, 2012; and “The Trip To Bountiful” May 11 to 27, 2012.
