To the editor:
As a member of the MEA Bylaws committee, I must take exception with the headline in Tuesday 3/17 paper, referring to “MEA bylaw authors.” To set the record straight, this group has noting to do with the MEA bylaws committee. We have recently sent to the MEA board of directors our recommendations for streamlining and updating the current bylaws. The changes we have recommended will be voted on by the membership.
Mr. Jordan, who lost his bid for re-election last year, is trying to use change the bylaws to remove the successful candidate who unseated him. Lee Jordan is trying to usurp the duties of the bylaws committee. Our committee is open to suggestions from the membership. Mr. Jordan did not participate. Mr. Jordan has been unwilling or unable to display cooperation, which is the basis for any cooperative venture. During his time on the board I witnessed his rudeness and aggressive arrogance to MEA members who approached the board with their concerns. I was relieved when he was replaced as I saw this as a change that has been long needed to bring the principals of a cooperative back to MEA.
I suggest that the Frontiersman make sure that they give all the information to the readers. The current board is working hard to make MEA more responsive to its membership, and to move MEA into the future working in cooperation with the other members of the Railbelt.
MEA members, please do not be fooled by the antics of Mr. Jordan.
Lee Jordan, it is time to move on.
