J Boog Brings Island Vibes to Fair’s 2023 Concert Series

Chart-topping reggae artist performs August 31; tickets on sale Friday, March 24, 10 a.m.

Palmer, Alaska – Chart-topping, award-winning reggae artist J Boog will bring his island vibes to the Alaska State Fair as part of the 2023 AT&T Concert Series. The internationally touring singer performs Thursday, August 31, at 7 p.m. at the ConocoPhillips Borealis Theatre. Tickets go on sale to the general public tomorrow, Friday, March 24, at 10 a.m.

Born and raised on the West Coast and influenced heavily by his Polynesian upbringing, J Boog is one of the top reggae singers in recent years. His unique blend of sound and style was introduced on his 2007 debut album, Hear Me Roar, and Backyard Boogie, which included megahits “Let’s Do It Again” and “Sunshine Girl.” Wash House Ting, released in 2016, topped Billboard reggae album charts and was nominated for Best Reggae Album at the 2018 Grammy® Awards. His EP Rose Petals was nominated for Best Reggae Album of the Year at the 2017 Grammy® Awards and also topped U.S. Billboard and iTunes reggae charts.

Among his many accolades, J Boog was named Best Entertainer at the International Reggae and World Music Awards, and was nominated for Male Artist of the Year at the 2021 Island 98.5 Island Music Awards.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 24, on the Fair website, alaskastatefair.org. Concert-goers have the option to purchase concert-only tickets or tickets including Fair admission. The included admission is at a discounted price and good any day of the Fair. Concert tickets including Fair admission must be purchased by August 17. J Boog joins previously announced 2023 concert series acts Turnpike Troubadours, FOR KING + COUNTRY, Blues Traveler, Flogging Molly, MEGADETH, Noah Cyrus, The String Cheese Incident and Noah Kahan. Tickets for these eight acts are currently available for purchase on the Fair website. All concerts take place rain or shine.
