Jacklyn K. Roy was born Sept. 22, 1945, in Sitka. She was a long-time Alaskan. She died on May 16, 2004, at Valley Hospital.
Mrs. Roy was a worldwide traveler with her mother. She loved and got along with young children. She loved all animals; if she saw a stray, she would ask if she could take it home and keep it.
Her family said, "Everyone who met and knew Jackie, loved her. She would have given the shirt off her back to anyone, no questions asked."
She is survived by her mother Noma Smith of Sequim, Wash.; daughter, Laura, of South Carolina; four grandchildren, Allen, Dale, Benji and Collin; and her husband, Edmond, of Sutton.
