JACKSON M. PARRY

Trapper Creek resident Jackson Morgan Parry, 47, died July 2, 2001, of heart failure, at a friend's home in Trapper Creek.

A memorial service and gathering was held Saturday, July 7, at the Trapper Creek Bible Church, with Pastor C. Smeltzer officiating, followed by a potluck at the Greater Grace Church of Trapper Creek.

Mr. Parry was born Feb. 27, 1954, in Massachusetts. He completed four years of college and became an Alaska resident in 1979. He resided in Cantwell for one season, in Fairbanks for two years, and in Trapper Creek for the past 11 years.

He was employed by the Alaska Department of Transportation, and also operated his own civil engineering business.

In earlier years he received his Eagle Scout rank. He did volunteer work with the Water and Soil Conservation Corps, and was active in supporting activities of the Greater Grace Church. He was also a Trapper Creek ambulance driver. His hobbies were ultralight flying, fishing, hunting, trapping and working on vehicles.

His family said: "Jackson leaves behind a legacy of helping everyone he met and he would give you the shirt off of his back. His greatest joy was being with his family and being a supportive father and husband. He was a great provider for the family — they didn't lack anything, whether it be love, support or anything at all. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, son, brother and friend to many."
