Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Jacob Michael "Jake" Ramsey of Crescent, Or., died Feb. 28, 2005 of a gun-related accident. He was 14. A graveside service was held in LaPine Community Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held Saturday at noon at Tanana Elementary School.
Jake was born Nov. 10, 1990, in Bend, Or. to James and Marjorie (Fincher) Ramsey. He was a student at Gilchrist Middle School and Teeland Middle School. Jake was a member of Oregon Hunter Safety and the American Motorcycle Association. His interests included hunting, fishing, sports and spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed motorcycles and guns.
Survivors include his father of Crescent; his mother and stepfather, Margie Fincher and Dave Lockhart of Wasilla; a brother, Jeremie Fincher of Wasilla; grandmother, Helen Hill of Lake Havasu, Ariz.; grandparents, Hollis and Julie Fincher of La Pine and his grandmother, Shirley Bliss of Bend. He was preceded in death by a grandfather.
