Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Mr. James G. Kilgore, 56, of Port Angeles, Wash., died Sept. 13, 2003, at his home. He was born Dec. 2, 1946, in Spokane, Wash., to Thomas Edward and Nellie Blanche (Leonard) Kilgore.
Mr. Kilgore married April (Knowland) Hjellen on June 24, 1995, in Wasilla.
Mr. Kilgore served in the United States Army in Germany for four years until 1963.
Following his service in the Army he moved to Alaska, and lived in Wasilla until moving to Port Angeles in 2000.
Mr. Kilgore was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting, riding four-wheelers on weekends and enjoyed camping.
He was a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife April of Port Angeles; sons Jim of Texas, Bill of Colorado and Jay of Colorado; daughter Kathy of Colorado; brother Bill of Montana; sisters June of Montana, Pat of Idaho, Kathy of Newport, Wash., Nancy of Joyce, Wash., and Ruth of Wasilla; and nine grandchildren.
Mr. Kilgore was preceded in death by his brother Carl and sister Carol.
Services will be held at a later date.
