Janett Larue Grady, 69, died Jan. 6, 2013, at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in Palmer.

She was born July 12, 1943, at home to Dalphonea and Alva Hardin in Darwin, Okla.

She graduated from Big Pasture High School in Randlett, Okla. She went to nursing School in Wichita Falls, Texas. Janett married David Grady who was in the U.S. Air Force.

She went with him to several U.S. air bases, including South Carolina, Michigan and Texas. They moved to Alaska in 1974. They lived in Eagle River from 1974 to 1975, then Palmer from 1975 to 2013. Janett was a homemaker. She was a member of Valley Church of Christ in Wasilla, where she did activities for children. She was a volunteer at the Bishop’s Attic. Her hobbies included Bible study. She was an expert at all phases of sewing and equally well versed in arts and crafts.

“Janett was well-loved by all who knew her. She was and is a loving and much-loved gift from God, an angel from heaven, especially to her loving husband David for 50 years on earth, and for all eternity in heaven,” her family wrote.

Surviving is her husband, David Grady of Palmer; brother and sister-in-law, Floyd and Ann Hardin of Atoka, Okla.; and sister and brother-in-law, Alva Jo and John Cothran of Farmersville, Texas.

Memorial donations can be made to Valley Church of Christ, P.O. Box 876401, Wasilla, AK 99687.

She will be buried at a later date at Valley Memorial Gardens in Palmer. A small visitation was Jan. 10 at Kehl’s Palmer Chapel. As requested, there will be no services.

The family was taken care of by Legacy Kehl’s Palmer Chapel in Palmer.
