Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Palmer resident Janice (Campbell) Tatlow, 67, died Aug. 7, 2004 while vacationing in Nebraska. Memorial services will be held Sept. 11, 2004, at the Moose Lodge in Palmer.
Janice Campbell was born Sept. 4, 1936 in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. She lived in Northern Saskatchewan and Alberta before her family settled in Chetwynd, British Columbia. After college and teaching a year in Costa Rica she returned to Chetwynd, where she met and married Carl Tatlow in 1959. In 1970 the family moved to Washington, and then, in 1975, to Alaska.
Mrs. Tatlow recently retired from HRC Inc., where she had worked for more than 25 years. During that time she taught adult education classes and managed the GED program in the Mat-Su Borough.
As program coordinator for HRC Inc., she also managed programs that helped people find work or funding for higher education. Her family said, "Janice also enjoyed gardening, providing beautiful roses and lilies and vegetables for friend and family."
Mrs. Tatlow is survived by her husband, Carl; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Wendy; son, Mark; grandson, Bryan Wilson, and his mother, Chris Wilson, all of Palmer; mother, Janet Campbell; brother, Frank Campbell, and many nieces and nephews, all in Canada.
