JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON — Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson spreads holiday cheer with the annual tree-lighting ceremony at the Arctic Warrior Chapel on JBER, Dec. 5, 2024.

The 773d Force Support Squadron coordinated the event to kick off the holiday season. The event aims to unite service members, families, and the community during the holiday season, fostering stronger bonds to boost morale.

“We've got the kind of community that feels so close and so strongly about building a sense of community that we’ve come out in chilly weather to stand together and sing and celebrate the season,” said U.S. Air Force Col. Lisa Mabbutt, the JBER and 673d Air Base Wing commander.

Leading up to the tree lighting ceremony, service members and their families enjoyed arts and crafts, participated in raffles, visited different supporting agency booths and helped themselves to warm drinks and snacks.

Approximately 120 people gathered to enjoy the festive season.
