JEAN MARIE KING

Willow resident Jean Marie King, 70, died at home March 14, 2001.

A memorial service will be held in Milwaukee, Wis., at a later date.

Mrs. King was born in Milwaukee on April 18, 1930, the daughter of Harold and Gladys Poser. She attended and graduated from Marquette University.

She moved to Alaska in 1960, residing in Anchorage, where she worked as a reservations clerk for Northwest Airlines until 1964, at which time she and her husband, Joseph, relocated to their homestead near Willow.

She enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with her pets, and working with the Upper Susitna Senior Center. She also enjoyed painting in her spare time.

Her family stated: "Jean was a person ready to help anybody in need at any time. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her."

Mrs. King is survived by her husband of 42 years, Joseph W. King; stepchildren, Betty Williams, Steven King, Joseph Earl King, and Michael King; and many friends in the Willow area.

Arrangements were made by Valley Funeral Home & Crematory of Wasilla.
