Jeff’s Path-MY House Treatment Program honors long-time member contributions

MY House is pleased to announce the official name of its youth treatment program, which will hereby be known as “Jeff’s Path.” The name is in honor of the late Jeff Overstreet, whose professional and personal contributions to MY House and its staff are immeasurable.

“The mission of Jeff’s path is to guide individuals through the winding road of Recovery with compassion, purpose and strength; honoring the spirit of movement, resilience and personal transformation,” said Bryan Fields, the Behavioral Health Program Manager at MY House, in a press release. “This name pays homage to a long-time member of our MY House family, while providing a welcoming name to individuals considering a treatment opportunity with MY House.”

As My House’s first ever residential treatment center, which opened earlier this year, Jeff’s Path offer’s treatment services exclusively to individuals 18-25 years old exclusively that have been assessed at a 3.1 level of care, which is a behavioral health diagnosis that recommends residential care for Substance Use Disorder.

Alaska’s youth experience some of the highest rates of homelessness and substance use in the nation, highlighting the urgency of innovative, holistic solutions, which is what this new program aims to do. Building on more than a decade of MyHouse’s success in supporting youth, the 3.1 program will integrate clinical care with practical job training, life-skills development, and personal growth opportunities.

Clients are surrounded by their peer group in a supportive e environment, allowing them to build connections essential to their recovery. They also receive traditional treatment services while simultaneously participating in job-training and education completion, helping provide long-term stability.

“We are dedicated to serving a population of transitional aged youth with this program,” said Fields earlier this year “This population is underserved in our state, and this program will save lives and enhance our community as a whole.”

The mission of this program is to address the critical need for wide-ranging support for young adults facing homelessness, recovery challenges, and instability, and represents a transformative expansion of MyHouse’s commitment to Alaska’s youth.
