Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Lifelong Alaskan and resident of Wasilla Jeremiah David Evans, 26, died June 8, 2005, at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage from injuries sustained in a pedestrian-vehicle accident.
A visitation will be held at 7 p.m. today, at the Valley Funeral Home chapel, 2020 Hemmer Road, Palmer. A funeral service will take place at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 18, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Palmer. Father Leo Desso will officiate. Floral arrangements are welcome.
Mr. Evans was born March 9, 1979, in Soldotna. He was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Michael's Catholic Church in Palmer. He enjoyed building model cars, spending time with family and daughter, fishing with close friends and golfing.
His family wrote, "For the son and friend who was very humorous, full of life and love for his family and his only daughter, who was the shining star in his life. You came into our life with lots of love and memories that will never fade. You loved telling about your fishing trips and other adventures that we all will remember forever. You were ripped away from our lives, but I know we will be together again. That will not help today's pain. We still have your baby girl, Faith Elise Evans, to remind us of you. You will always be in our memories, hearts and dreams. We love you, Jeremiah."
His niece, Ashley Butcher, preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughter, Faith Elise Evans of Wasilla; mother, Ruth Evans of Palmer; father, Michael Evans of Wasilla; fiancée, Shayna Muffoletto of Wasilla; brothers, Toby Evans of Wasilla, Jamie Evans of Eagle River, Mike Evans and Waylon Pearson, both of Anchorage; sisters, Amy Evans of Birchwood, Hetty Evans of Anchorage and Amanda Evans of Big Lake; grandmothers, Mary Evans of Boise, Idaho, and Midge Helton of Oklahoma City, Okla.; aunts, Leslie Greenwell of Anchorage, Mary Evans of Boise, Margie Carter and Cindy Osborn of Oklahoma City; uncles, Randy Greenwell of Anchorage and Bobby Helton of Oklahoma City; mother-in-law, Pam Fox of Bullhead, Ariz.; father-in-law, Jim Muffoletto of Wasilla; brothers-in-law, Corey Muffoletto of Eagle River and Tristan Muffoletto of Bullhead, Ariz., and sisters-in-law, Jennifer Domingez and Amanda Lubasky of Anchorage and Amber Warren of Eagle River. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.
Memorial donations may be made in care of Faith Evans to account 76167 at any branch of the Matanuska Valley Federal Credit Union. Arrangements are with Valley Funeral Home and Crematory in Wasilla.
