A key part of military service is volunteering, whether locally in a service member’s homeport, or when deployed as a community relations project. Volunteering is mutually beneficial as your time and dedication can make a lasting difference in the lives of those who are receiving help and those who have served our nation. It creates meaningful change, fosters connections and contributes to the well-being of those in need.
The Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) is honoring those who serve during National Volunteer Week April 20-26, 2025, and is asking to join VA in supporting a National Day of Service through “VetServe 2025” on April 23, 2025. This special observance highlights the tremendous impact volunteers make in the lives of Veterans, their families, caregivers and survivors.
