Our family has free and happy hearts this Christmas season as a result of the judgment passed in the Papa Pilgrim case last week by Superior Court Judge Donald Hopwood. We were always told by our father that those in authority would be against us. It has taken us more than two years to really believe that there are people in our country who are willing to take a stand against perpetrators of evil.
Words simply cannot express the deep gratitude in our heart for the decisive judgment of Judge Hopwood, the tireless effort of the District Attorneys Richard Payne and Rachel Garnet, the support of the Alaska State Troopers, the consideration of professionals who protect abused children, the sensitivity of the media who honorably represented the facts of the case, the generosity of those kind-hearted souls who wanted to lighten the load, the encouragement of our church family, and the understanding shown by our relatives, friends, and neighbors.
May the Lord Jesus bless each and every one who has contributed to our joy as a family...
And for those who are still suffering...we pray you will find a way of escape.
With hearts of gratitude,
The Buckingham and
Hale family members
