July Art Shows

Art shows hanging during July in the Mat-Su Valley include:

Carrs Mall, Wasilla. 376-0123. Forrest James will hang a show of Alaska landscapes and wildlife.

Dorothy Page Museum

323 N. Main Street, Wasilla. 373-9071. An exhibit of the flags submitted for the 1926 contest to pick the state flag.

Expresso Cafe

1265 Seward Meridian Parkway, Unit A, Wasilla. 376-5282

All Birds Studio is a place of support, creativity, and experimentation. This collaborative art show concept involves artists with and without disabilities, working together to create original art pieces.

Palmer Museum of History and Art

723 S. Valley Way, Palmer. 746-7668. Exhibit called “Ring of Fire — Alaskan Dragons” by Eva Blurton is on display. Blurton used various materials and papier-mâché techniques to craft an imaginative collection of three-dimensional dragons.

Czar of Guitars

105 E. Arctic, Palmer. 745-5550. A 2011 summer food drive offers a free set of acoustic or electric DR guitar strings to customers who donate two nonperishable food items. The food drive continues through July 31, and all food collected will be distributed in the Mat-Su Valley.

Madd Matters

105 E. Arctic, Palmer. 745-6045. Dolls on Parade 2011 is on display through Aug. 10 and features uniquely decorated and modified dolls.

Sheldon Community Arts Hangar

Talkeetna. 733-7929. Silk and canvas artwork by Tony Crocetto and Julia March Crocetto is on display until Aug. 10.
