WASILLA— Just Imagine Toys is nearing their 15th anniversary and is ready to celebrate with the public at their store this Saturday from 10 to 6 p.m.
“We try to give back to the community too,” Just Imagine Toys owner Mary Scheie said.
Throughout the day, all items will be 15 percent off. There will also be a number of family oriented crafts, games and other activities. That includes balloon animals from 12 to 2 p.m. and face painting from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Scheie said the main highlight of running her toy store in her community these last 15 years has been the customers, always the customers, “both younger and older.”
“That’s really fun and watching the kids enjoy the toys,” Scheie said.
Scheie said that she started the store simply to “just to have toys and have fun.” The idea came from having to go to Anchorage to buy toys for her grandson. She said that she saw a need for quality toys within the Valley and she wanted to help locals get their shopping done without having to venture outside.
“I wanted to have good toys out here,” Scheie said.
Just Imagine Toys is located within the Carrs Safeway strip mall. For more information about the event or the store, call: 907-357-1543 or visit: www.jitoys.com
